Miraculous deer

About

The second largest statue in Buda, the Miraculous Deer, was inaugurated in December 2022, and is made of bronze. It has become a symbol of the Money Museum. The deer's antlers are made of polished bronze castings, and its body is made up of thousands of golden hair plates bent from bronze. The pedestal is more than 6 metres high, while the deer standing on it reaches a height of 5 metres, and the sculpture weighs more than 15 tonnes.

My sculpture is not an anatomical representation of a deer, but a stylised figure. I have depicted the supernatural creature in a movement that does not exist in nature, its forelegs sticking forward as if it is swimming in the sky as it kicks off the top of the rock that represents the terrestrial sphere.- Gabor M Szoke
